1. Agreement to Terms
By registering as a shopper on TasteTester, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.
2. Service Description
TasteTester connects you with local businesses offering free or discounted meals in exchange for detailed, honest feedback about your experience. You act as a "mystery shopper" providing valuable insights to help businesses improve.
3. Eligibility
To use TasteTester, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate personal information
- Have a valid email address
- Have a valid bank account for receiving refunds
- Reside in a location where our service is available
4. Shopper Obligations
As a mystery shopper, you agree to:
- Provide honest, detailed, and constructive feedback
- Visit businesses anonymously - do not identify yourself as a mystery shopper
- Complete surveys promptly after your visit
- Upload valid receipts showing proof of purchase
- Follow offer terms and conditions carefully
- Behave respectfully toward staff and other customers
- Not abuse or game the system
5. Offer Redemption
When redeeming offers, you understand that:
- You must complete the required survey before receiving your refund
- You must upload a valid receipt showing qualifying purchases
- Refunds are processed after admin review and approval
- A 5% platform fee is deducted from refunds
- Refunds are sent to your registered bank account within 7-10 business days
- Only one active redemption is allowed at a time
- Offers may have limited availability
6. Payment and Refunds
Regarding payments:
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- You must provide valid banking information to receive refunds
- Bank details are encrypted and never shared with businesses
- Refunds may be rejected if receipts or surveys are fraudulent
- TasteTester reserves the right to withhold payment for violations
7. Referral Program
Our referral program allows you to earn rewards:
- You receive €20 voucher when your referee completes their first redemption
- Vouchers can be used to offset future mystery shop costs
- Self-referrals and fraudulent referrals are prohibited
- TasteTester may modify or cancel the program at any time
8. Data and Privacy
We protect your privacy:
- Your identity is kept anonymous from businesses
- Your feedback is shared with businesses but without identifying information
- We comply with GDPR and data protection regulations
- Your banking information is securely encrypted
- You may request deletion of your data at any time
9. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Create multiple accounts to claim more offers
- Submit fake reviews or fabricated receipts
- Identify yourself as a mystery shopper to businesses
- Harass or mistreat business staff
- Sell or transfer your account to others
- Use the service for commercial purposes
- Violate any applicable laws
10. Account Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of the platform. Pending refunds may be forfeited upon termination.
11. Limitation of Liability
TasteTester is not responsible for the quality of food or service at participating businesses, any health issues arising from your visits, or disputes with businesses. Our liability is limited to the refund amounts owed to you.
12. No Guarantee of Availability
We do not guarantee the availability of offers in your area or that you will always receive refunds. Offers are subject to business availability and may be limited or expire.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
